Bold Thinking-2015 Toyota Camry

October 15th, 2014 by

Last week the 2015 Camry’s arrived on our lot! Everyone has been very excited to check out this much anticipated vehicle. I had the opportunity to test drive the 2015 Camry Hybrid XLE and when I got in for the test drive I was blown away by how luxurious it was! Before I explain the interior, I don’t want to forget to tell you about the exterior. The color of the Camry I drove was “Predawn Gray Mica”, or a medium gray color. The body style has remained pretty similar, with the addition of a sport mesh grill, updated lights and a slightly wider frame. The interior was completely leather; even the dash had a leather overlay. It was very comfortable to sit in but the features were an upgrade from what I am currently driving so it took me a minute to get acclimated before I went on the test drive. Some of the features are similar to the Highlander (which we featured last week), such as the dual climate control and the eco feature. The new features that stood out to me were:
1. Wireless Charging Station
The Camry features an optional upgrade that I personally think everyone should opt in for. Built in to the dash, there is a small area where you can place your cell phone, turn on a button and wirelessly charge your cell phone. You do need to have a special Qi-compatible phone case in order to utilize this feature but in this technologically “plugged in” world that we live in, I think this would be an amazing investment. How convenient!
2. Heated Seats
I know it seems silly, but this feature is one that always warms my heart (haha). I love the luxury of heated seats; it’s a feature that always make me more apt to purchase if there is a deciding factor in a car. This feature is optional, but I do think it added to the comfort of the vehicle.
3. Dash Display
The dash display on the Camry was awesome. It had many different display setting, from gas mileage to temperature, but the navigation with turn-by-turn directions was my favorite feature. I think it’s a smart idea to have navigation built right into a car’s dash. So many times we use our cell phones for navigation and that can become dangerous when you aren’t keeping your eyes on the road. This comes standard in almost all 2015 Camry models. Thank you Toyota!
4. Back-Up Camera
I have NEVER reversed in a car without contorting and twisting my body every which way to see what’s behind me. Using the back-up camera was a very strange sensation. It’s built in to the center dash and gives a real time video of what is happening directly behind the car. It’s still important to look around outside your vehicle and use your mirrors to confirm that no one is behind you, but it was a very beneficial feature.
5. JBL Green Edge Audio
The 2015 Camry comes with an amazing audio system. It has XM and HD radio capabilities and is equipped with a full on multimedia bundle. This bundle includes and AM/FM CD player, MP3/WMA playback capability, auxiliary audio jack, USB port with iPod connectivity,  advanced voice recognition, hands-free phone capability, phone book access and music streaming through Bluetooth. With all that, you will be well entertained on long car trips and hands free driving will be a breeze!

Since I did test drive a hybrid model, I just want to touch on the hybrid features of the Camry. This Camry is a 4 Cylinder ECVT hybrid and the combined output of gas and electric is 200hp. It averages 40mpg in the city and uses regular unleaded fuel.

I really hope that you decide to come in and check this car out for yourself. I was not disappointed with the new Camry and I know that you will love it as well!
